Fax Problems Cannot Send Or Receive Verizon

The first thing to check is to be sure the fax line is plugged into the correct port. Look at the fax ports on the copier -- one will be labeled LINE and one will be labeled TEL. Make sure the copier is plugged into the LINE port.

If it was plugged into the line port and it's not working, take the fax line out of the copier and plug it into a phone. See if you get a dial tone from the phone, and if you can make or receive phone calls. If there's no dial tone, or you can't make or receive calls, there is a problem with the phone line. If you can make and receive calls but the line has a lot of static (hard to hear anything) that will also prevent the fax machine from being able to send and receive. Have Verizon take a look at the line and try to remove the static/noise.

If the phone line sounds fine and you can make and receive phone calls, then you may have a problem with the fax board inside the machine.
