Ricoh Mp C3002 Main Switch Problem

My Ricoh MP C3002 turns off all power immediately the main switch is pressed to the "off" position.This machine should go into a 2 minute shutdown routine before power is turned off completely. i need to restore the 2 minute shutdown routine to avoid HDD failure.(This machine has the latest Ricoh engine firmware installed).

It's been a while since I've worked on these, but I believe the soft power feature is controlled by either the controller board or BICU board. Try testing the pins/connections on those boards to see if you can locate the problem (located behind the back cover). Also, while you have the machine open, check the wires leading in from the power plug, and check the power switch itself to be it's switching correctly.

Has any work been done on your machine recently? If so, check over whatever was done. I've seen weird power issues when power switches were replaced and not wired correctly.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like there's a free copy of the service manual for this machine online, so depending on how deep into the weeds you want to get, it may be better to have your service technician take a look.
