Why does my treadmill belt not move?

Belt Tension

If the belt is too tight, it could cause enough tension that the motor can't turn the belt. This is most likely the cause of your belt not moving if you recently adjusted the belt tension due to slippage.

How do you loosen a treadmill belt?

To loosen the walking belt, turn the bolt counter-clockwise. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each side of the belt 2-3" off the walking platform. Plug in the power cord, insert the safety key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes.

What kind of lubricant can I use on my treadmill belt?

silicone

Most fitness equipment manufacturers recommend using 100 percent silicone to lubricate the walking belt on a treadmill. Silicone is available in a spray and a liquid.
