Headset Not Working When Phone In Cradle

My headset will not answer the phone remotely. I have to lift the receiver to hear anything. the button on the charger does not answer the phone nor does the button on the ear piece. There is also a lot of feedback on the calls through the headset. I would appreciate your help - thanks Vida
