Twin Needle Troubles

I am trying to use a twin needle on pfaff life's lifestyle 2014-2024 machine, I read the manual but I can only get one straight stitch from the machine, am I missing a step during threading for a twin needle? I thought the bobbin thread would catch both underneath. Teresa Ross
