Pfaff Creative 1471 Presser Foot Not Dropping Onto Fabric.
Oiling has not helped.

If your machine has been sitting for any length of time chances are the old grease they used has hardened and froze the presser foot bar to the bearings.
They aren't the easiest machines to take apart and I am unable to find a service manual for these but what I ended up doing on my 1472 was take the top off, remove the front cover and the hold down plate that keeps the presser foot spring and plunger in place, spray it with WD-40 to loosen the grease and then I had to use a brass drift pin and hammer to free it up. Once free, I used Tri-Flow on it and it now works like new.
