Not well covered in the manual but if you look at the attached diagram and notes you will see that you use the DV in/out port on the camera with a dv to firewire cord that you will have to buy and then use iMovie , ( installed on all MACS), to download the movie for editing .The articles in the manual around page 42 sort of talk about this with no reference to the MAC.
