Alarm Clock
How do I get to the "-- --" setting which turns off the alarm. When I follow instructions on p. 15 of the User Manual, it only gets me to the clock and number for setting the alarm, but not to the symbols necessary for turning the alarm clocks off.

If you mean alert when you say alarm then there's only 2 options to control the alert; on or in standby.
To enable or disable the alarm:
• Press MENU until you reach alarm 1 or 2 display.
• Press up or down arrows to enable or disable the
alarm. “-:-- means disabled.
