Sound Spontaneously Stops

Listening to an Onkyo TX-SV373 radio station or a CD, the sound suddenly, spontaneously stops. For either the radio station OR the CD, the sound may spontaneously start again!!! I only have my Onkyo receiver connected to the Sony CD player and have an antenna connected.

If a receiver is not getting enough current, it will turn itself off. If your receiver shares a wall outlet with another high-current appliance (e.g. refrigerator, air conditioner, heater, or vacuum) the receiver may shut itself off when there is insufficient current.

If both amps had the same problem and you connected them to the same outlet (the old one that was working good and the new one that turned off) maybe it's something wrong with your electrical system and that's why the amp protection keeps turning the receivers off. Try to reset the receiver to factory setting
