990:error

I get the message 990:Error in the display on my OKI C301dn laser printer. What is it and how do I fix it? Best regards Torben Karl Nielsen

This error may be related to the fuser. Power off the printer. Open the top cover of the printer. At the back, you will see a black unit with a yellow caution sticker on it. This is the fuser unit. Unlock the two blue latches of both sides of the fuser, grab onto the handle, and pull the fuser out. Check for any paper jams. Remove if any then reinstall the fuser and lock the blue latches back into the lock position. Close the cover and power the printer back on. If the error does not clear, the fuser unit will need to be replaced.

Hello. I am an Oki Data helpdesk technician from Oki Data America's. Error 990 is a "Waste toner sensor detection error". This is a part of the black (K) toner. I recommend replacing the black toner which should resolve the issue. Make sure you purchased a genuine Oki Data replacement cartridge specificakky for your model printer.
