Auto Focus Crap

In low light conditions without flash, the auto focus goes right through a "perfect" focus and settles on a slightly out of focus solution. Acts like some pretty poor calibration

From what I've read online about this camera, it's normal. It's actually very common for consumer level cameras to have issues focusing in low light situations.
