Possible causes
- Bad SIM - try a different one you know to be functional
- Dirty SIM slot - you need to make sure that all 6 gold SIM card heads on the phone are free from insulation of dirt
- Bad SIM slot - this can be the lock mechanism, a broken or bent head (one of the six) or an electronic failure on the phone's main PCB
The latter will normally require professional service.
