How Do I Unlock Channel On My Motorola Surf Board Sbg6580?

i have a motorola surf board sbg6580 that i havent used in 6 months. i have changed isp provider and but the router wont connect to internet. isp says permission is granted must be modem issue. i went to default ip page to get into modem all looks good except its says i have a channel locked. is this stopping from connecting? i did try to do factory reset which i assumed would erase all saved info. and channel did not unlock like i assumed it would. please help fix my issue with this modem thank you for your time,
