2005 Mercury Module Lifht On

Hello.I wanted to know if its safe to drive my 2005 Mercury Mariner with the compass module light flashing, It just came on.ThanksMonica Smith

Hi Monica,

It is really a good question and Here is the answer..

Your Mariner is safe to drive.

What will happen if you have a panic stop the antilock brakes will not activate and your brakes may lock up in a panic stop. You will just have normal breaking

Just as long as you drive normal, and you do not have any sudden panic stop braking activity, you will be ok, until you can get it repaired.

You probably have a bad wheel sensor, the abs and 4x4 cannot tell how fast one of the wheels is spinning. That is usually what causes both those lights to come on at the same time.

the 4x4 uses the wheel speed sensor to know if the wheel is slipping, if it feels the wheel is slipping it activates the 4x4
