I Understand That This Model Of Maytag Centennial Mvwc400vw1 Is Made Much Sturdi
Considering our Maytag model was purchased in 2009 and needs either a clutch assembly or a transmission, is it worth investing the money into the repair? We have heard that the current models are not as durable. What is the life expectancy on our current machine?

It's an interesting question, but I know of no life expectancy figures for these appliance (or for any other, for that matter). I think the best one can do is compare warranty lengths--so it may be helpful for you to know that Maytag in 2017 extended its 10-year limited parts warranty to include every new Maytag® model.
