Why are my drill bits breaking?
There are mostly two reasons why a drill breaks. Deflected breakage is caused by the radial force, the drill bit is broken at the end of flute. Twisted breakage is caused by the large torque, the drill bit is normally broken at the middle of the flute.
Why do jack hammer bits break?
In order to allow smooth metal-to-metal contact in the hydraulic hammer, it needs to be lubricated every two hours. If the tool shank is not lubricated often enough, the issue can cause the tool to crack. Over time, hammers can become rusted due to weathering and not enough grease applied in between use.
How do you tighten a Makita hammer drill bit?
Hold the ring and turn the sleeve counterclockwise to open the chuck jaws. Place the bit in the chuck as far as it will go. Hold the ring firmly and turn the sleeve clockwise to tighten the chuck. To remove the bit, hold the ring and turn the sleeve counter- clockwise.
