Setting Up A Fax Line

In Windows, go to the control panel. Open Add/Remove Programs. Select on the left Windows Features or Windows Components or whatever option you have there for Windows programs and features. Install FAX. Configure FAX. Then, plug your phone into your modem on the port that says "phone" or has a picture of a telephone. Next plug one end of another cord into the "line" port of your modem. It might have a picture of a phone jack. Now, from the "line" port, plug the other end of the cord into your MagicJack. Plug the MagicJack into an available USB port. When you are done you will have a setup like this:

Computer USB port --> MagicJack USB -->MagicJack phone jack --> phone cord --> modem line port --> modem phone port --> phone cord --> telephone.

You should now be good to go.

MagicJack is not really meant to be used for faxing. Some people have reported that it works and some say it doesn't. There's really nothing you can do if it doesn't work since faxing is not officially supported.
