Lost Remote

Lost remote to vhs to dvd recorder model # mwr20v6. Am I still able to record and finish dvd from vhs? If not how can I get a replacement remote. I also have a universal Philips remove that I am wondering if I with your assistance program to work with my unit. Need answers asap as I just discovered the missing remote.
