Non Working Remote
the remote has not worked since new. can't find manual. can remote be reprogramed

Remote might be broken. Cannot be programmed. Remove discs or cassettes and retry remote. Aim remote at radio antenna (clear signal-no station) and press buttons; no signal noises on radio - broken remote. It would be easier to just replace the remote.
