How To Get To The Inside Packaging To Remove It
the directions (graphics not words) show lifting off the top of the printer to get to the packaging inside. I can't figure out how to do that

If you are referring to step number 1 on the set up sheet, the printer is being lifted to take out the printer from the box. After the printer is take out you can automatically remove the plastic from the printer.
