Eeprom T420

Can not add serial number to BIOS after changing systemboard, I get an error that the EEPROM is write-protected, please advise on how to disable or clear the eeprom error

Turn off the computer. Remove the battery and pull out the AC cord. Wait for about a minute and then again put the battery and AC cord in its original place. Start the HMD and ON the laptop. Your issue will be resolved.

hello there,

get two bootable flash drives one with BIOS version 1.83 and another with 1.10.

connect both flashes onto the machine and boot from the flash with 1.10 version then update all steps as usual. it has worked for me on X390 and T490.
