Press & hold the volume up button on the edge of the phone, this will run the volume up to max, do the same thing while on a call to maximize the voice volume of the person on the other end of the call.

There is an actual "senior mode" that amplifies the treble tones making it easier for seniors to understand. It's not just increasing volume. It's in settings, call.
