When Running The Hose Wants To Shrink Up

- Blockage in the hose: If there is a blockage in the hose, it can cause the airflow to be restricted, which can lead to the hose contracting. Check the hose for any obstructions, such as dirt, debris, or small objects, and remove them if necessary.
- Clogged filter: If the filter is clogged or dirty, it can reduce the suction power of the vacuum, which can cause the hose to contract. Check the filter and clean or replace it as needed.
- Weak hose material: Over time, the hose material can become weak and lose its elasticity, which can cause it to contract when the vacuum is turned on. If the hose is old or has been used heavily, it may need to be replaced.
- Loose connections: If the connections between the hose and the vacuum or attachments are loose, it can cause air to escape and reduce the suction power, which can cause the hose to contract. Make sure all connections are tight and secure.
By identifying and addressing the underlying cause of the problem, you should be able to resolve the issue of the hose contracting when the Kenmore 24195 vacuum cleaner is turned on.

Just happened to me. Took everything apart. No blockage in the flexable tubing or connections then I looked down the hard, telescoping tube and saw that it was occluded. Everything's fine and dandy now.

It sounds like the vacuum hose of your Kenmore 24195 vacuum cleaner is collapsing or shrinking up when you are using it. This could be caused by a few different things:
Blockage in the hose: Check the hose for any blockages, such as dirt or debris. Use a long, thin object like a broomstick to push out any blockages you find.
Worn or damaged hose: Inspect the hose for any cracks, holes, or damage. If the hose is worn or damaged, it may not be able to maintain its shape when suction is applied. In this case, you may need to replace the hose.
Weak suction: If the vacuum's suction power is weak, it may not be strong enough to keep the hose expanded. Check the filter and dust cup for any clogs, and replace the filter if it is dirty or damaged.
