1. Check the programming: Ensure that the radio is not programmed to only operate on 144MHz. Double-check the pre-programmed channels, memory settings, or any other settings that might restrict frequency operation. It's possible that the radio is locked to a specific frequency range.
2. Check the split operation: Some radios, including the IC-2300H, have a "split" feature that allows you to transmit on one frequency and receive on another. Make sure you haven't unintentionally activated this feature, as it may limit your ability to change frequency.
3. Check the VFO mode: Verify that the radio is in VFO (Variable Frequency Oscillator) mode. In this mode, you should be able to manually change the frequency by entering it using the keypad or using tuning knobs/buttons.
4. Perform a reset: If all else fails, you can try performing a factory reset on your radio. The procedure for this can vary, so I recommend consulting the user manual for instructions on how to reset the radio to its original settings.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be worth contacting the manufacturer's customer support or taking your radio to a knowledgeable technician for further assistance. They will have the expertise to diagnose any potential hardware problems.
I hope this is helpful? PLEASE "ACCEPT" and mark it "HELPFUL" to complement my little effort. Hope to bring you more detailed answers.

If your Icom IC-2300H radio is not changing frequency and seems to be locked at 144 MHz, there are a few potential reasons for this issue:
Frequency lock: Check if the radio is locked in a specific frequency range. Some radios have a lock function that prevents accidental frequency changes. Refer to your radio's user manual to learn how to unlock the frequency and make changes.
Memory mode: Ensure that the radio is not in memory mode. Memory mode allows you to store and recall specific frequencies. If the radio is in memory mode, it may only be accessing the stored frequencies. Switch to VFO (Variable Frequency Oscillator) mode to enable direct frequency tuning.
Offset settings: Verify that the offset settings are properly configured. The IC-2300H is a 2-meter band (144-148 MHz) FM transceiver, and it typically requires a specific offset for repeater operations. Ensure that the offset is set correctly according to the repeater's requirements.
Repeater tone settings: If you are attempting to use a repeater, confirm that the required tone settings (CTCSS or DCS tones) are programmed correctly. Repeater systems often require specific tones for access. Refer to the repeater's documentation or contact the repeater owner for the correct tone settings.

- Confirm the radio's frequency range: The Icom IC-2300H is a 2-meter band (144-148MHz) FM transceiver, which means it's designed to operate within the 144MHz frequency range. It does not support frequencies outside this range. Ensure that you're not attempting to change the frequency beyond its supported range.
- Check the radio settings: Make sure that the radio is not locked or set to a specific frequency. Check the user manual or the radio's settings menu to see if there are any options that might restrict the frequency range or lock the radio to a specific channel.
- Reset the radio: Perform a factory reset on the radio to revert it to its default settings. This can help clear any unintended settings or restrictions that might be causing the issue. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset on your specific model.
- Verify the microphone controls: Check the microphone's controls and buttons to ensure that they are functioning properly. Sometimes, the issue might be with the microphone itself. If possible, try using a different compatible microphone to see if the problem persists.
- Seek professional assistance: If the issue persists after trying the above steps, it's recommended to contact Icom customer support or a qualified radio technician for further assistance. They will have specialized knowledge and tools to diagnose and address any technical issues with the radio.
Remember to consult the user manual for your specific radio model for detailed instructions and troubleshooting steps.
