How Do I Use The Ceiling Hook?

Mthis fan is 14 years old and doesn't have the typical ball and socket to hang the fan while you connect the wiring, but it does have a hook. I just don't see how I'm supposed to use the hook and where it hooks onto. Does anyone have this type of mounting hardware that can help me with it?
