Humax Hd5600 Satellite Receiver With Pvr
Following a power cut my receiver reports 'hard drive not found'. A new drive has been fitted and formatted. 'Hard drive not found' reported again. Manufacturer re-set carried out, machine re-booted and the same error message reported with either drive..

This procedure will recover your drive that you cannot access but all contents will be lost.
To recover your access to the external hard drive proceed as follows;-
You must reformat the drive but this cannot be done with the Humax or your computer as it is not accessible.
Dis-connect the drive and connect it to any other PVR recorder you may have. Note that not all PVR recorders can recognise the drive. So try all you own or a friends machine. I used a Technomat TM5402HD receiver and this managed to reformat the drive.
Now reconnect your drive to the Humax and format it again with the Humax file system.
Job done!#
