HEPA filters will effectively remove most allergens, dust, pollen and mold from the air. However, they won't remove viruses or VOCs. Mold can grow within the fibers, so it's essential to replace it regularly every 12 to 18 months or when needed.
Do you need a filter in a Hoover?
To keep any bagless vacuum cleaner in good working order, cleaning the filter is a must. When the filter is clogged, even just a little, there will be a noticeable loss in suction and the machine might also start making noises that indicate it is struggling to perform at it's best.
Can Hoover filters be washed?
For best results the filters can be washed in warm water but check they are thoroughly dry before putting them back into place, this may take up to 24 hours. Hoover recommend that you fit new filters once per year to keep your vacuum cleaner in tip top working order.
How long do Hoover filters last?
Residential Vacuums
HEPA filters in residential settings tend to last longer than in commercial. This is because there is unlikely to be much dust accumulated in a single year. Residential filters are designed to be changed at least once in three years for maximum filtration.
