I Have Horizontal Black Lines On The Upper Half Of Screen.
I replaced two large blown caps on power supply and replaced bad upper Y buffer that was smoked.

What are some other possible causes? The replacement upper buffer board is a jp6079. The original is a nd60200-0047. The look and fit the same. Could the replacement be the issue?

Comon faults with LCDs and plasmas are the capacitors on the power supply. However another issue is the bonding strips around the screen which are starting to fail as these TVs are reaching around 5 years of age. You need to go to the Hitachi website at http://www.hitachiserviceusa.com/Downloads.asp and obtain a service manual with dis-assembly details and check the bonding strips around the screen. There are other likely faults and one cannot be diffinitive. This is one probable cause. This is not for the faint hearted so if you are not an engineer who is confident I would leave to someone more able.
