It's Installed Correctly, But I Can't Find It When I Open Up The Computer Folder

I plug it in, and the "safely remove icon appears next to the time in the lower right corner. I open up the "Computer" folder, but it's not there. I can Right Click on my C Drive and click Properties. Then I click Hardware. And it's there. But I can't access it. I'm running Windows Vista. My wife is also, but SHE can access it when she plugs it into her computer. What gives. It says it installed correctly when I view it via C drive, properties, hardware. But I can't do anything with it.
