Current generation drill chucks are now more like a nut which screws on and it will have a left hand thread. A sharp tap with a hammer will remove it. I would initially try spraying the chuck with a WD40 solution and leaving overnight. Then oiling through the drill bit entrance teeth. Moving it from one end to the other should enable it to work again. I had a similar issue with a Ryobi drill but the cost of a new chuck was as much as buying a new drill. They cost the spares so high as to force you to buy a new one.
