Keeps Powering Down

Help, I have just purchased this printer. Whilst it worked for a few hours, when I went to turn it on again it kept switching off. I had an error message that advised me to close down properly and not form the power source, but ti powered down before I could do anything. I dont even get that message now. What should I do?

Hello there,

This might be of interest to you, and maybe you can help me as well.

I purchased this printer 2 weeks ago and it was working just fine. Some days ago I had this same problem for the first time. I was printing a set of 40 black and white pages (low quality). It was the first time I was printing so many pages together, and in the middle of the proccess it turned off and two seconds later turned on again. It showed the same messaged as it did to you. I repeated the proccess and the same happened.

After reading your post, I decided to take the printer back for a replacement. And so I come home with the new printer, install it, and when I try to print the same set.. SAME THING!

So, I'm trying to figure out what's going on here:

1) all HP printers are deffective

2) there's maybe a software conflict (I don't think it's a broken cable anymore) and that makes the printer collapse.

So please, I would appreciate if you could give me some more details. What operating system are you using? Did you solve the problem? I'm using Mac OS X Lion.

This sounds like a defective printer. Don't even waste your time trying to figure it out. If you just bought it, take it back and get another one, but do so quickly before the warranty runs out.
