Boot Problems
I am trying to get this hp to boot but the only thing that comes up after the boot menu is the blinking white bar in the lop left corner

Unfortunately thats not enough info to go on. Do you see the RAM counting up, do you see the boot splash screen?
Sounds like bad RAM, a bad CPU, or bad motherboard to me. All depends on where it stops. Also sounds like a job for a qualified tech since it could be any number of things going on.
