Hp Dv7 1444us Shuts Off As It Gets Hot. What Seems To Be Causing This Problem?

My HP pavillion dv7 1444us, AMD Turion x2 shuts off when it gets hot.  I suspect that it's either the cpu fan or the entire heatsink and fan is not working anymore.  I would like to know if a lot of people who own this laptop or this series of laptop have similar problem.  Should I change the CPU fan or the entire cooling system?   Thanks for your answers.

Yes, most of the time overheating of laptop or desktop computers are caused by heatsink or fan hardware failure. To give you an idea why this happens, the processor has self protecting feature. When it reaches a certain amount of temperature, it shuts down the computer system to prevent the process to be burned. In your case, there are also other people who have encountered similar problem. You can find it here:

The best solution for this problem is if you don't have enough knowledge on the technical parts of a computer, let the computer technician troubleshoot and repair your computer.
