Healthrider H70e Elliptical Always Maximum Tension

My Healthrider H70e elliptical does not work. The tension always stays at max regardless of what I set on the console. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Hi. This is usually an indication on a bad/faulty motor or absence of power to it. Take of the plastic shielding and test the leads to the motor with a Volto-meter for vooltage. If you find voltage presence, then have the motor replaced.

The first answer given is right on the money. His answer of "it is usually the motor" is an acceptable even if the resistance works some of the time. Ours worked 1-3 but once it got to 4 it jumped past a 10 resisitance. It is EXACTLY what the rep at the healthrider company gave. They actually stayed on the phone with us while we took it apart, so the service on the equipment they sell is outstanding!
