According to the manual, you must enter the correct code or the unit will not work. If I were able to provide a code for you this anti-theft protection would be useless. I don't know who the "gal" is who provided a code to you, but possibly she was an employee of the seller, and if so I suggest you try again to reach the seller. (We're an independent help site.)
