Gmr06aapbb Not Freezing With Gaslike Smell

my ge portable freezer stopped freezing, and it has an odd gaslike smell coming from it, not gasoline like smel, but some other form of gas.   i am assuming that whatever is used to freeze the freezer has brown a hole, but not sure what do do to fix it...any help would be appreciated
