Here are the steps to replace the lower rubber door gasket in a GE GLDT696TSS dishwasher:

1. Turn off the power to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker.

2. Open the dishwasher door and locate the rubber gasket. It will be located around the perimeter of the dishwasher opening.

3. Peel the old gasket away from the door opening by pulling on it gently. If it is difficult to remove, use a plastic or metal scraper to help loosen it.

4. Clean the area where the old gasket was attached using a damp cloth or sponge. Make sure to remove any debris or residue from the area.

5. Unroll the new lower rubber door gasket and remove any packaging or protective material.

6. Starting at one corner, press the new gasket into the groove around the perimeter of the dishwasher opening.

7. Use your fingers to carefully work the gasket into place around the entirety of the opening.

8. Make sure that the gasket is seated evenly and securely all the way around the opening.

9. Turn the power back on to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker.

10. Close the dishwasher door and run a cycle to test the new gasket for leaks.

Following these steps should help you successfully replace the lower rubber door gasket in your GE GLDT696TSS dishwasher. If you encounter any difficulties during the process, it may be helpful to refer to the dishwasher's user manual or seek assistance from a professional technician.
