Gateway Mc7321u Won't Power On

Bought a new battery, installed it and laptop turned on.  I left it on to charge but when I went back to work on the laptop, it would not power on again - even with the new battery.  The AC/DC adapter that came with the laptop shows a green light, so I assume it is working?

Based on your description, the battery and power adapter are working fine. I believe that cause of the problem is a failed hardware part inside the laptop. This problem can be resolve if you bring the laptop to a service repair center since they have the complete equipments to diagnose and repair your device.

I have the same notebook, mine had that problem,i had to replace the DC power jack and make sure its the right one because some people have put new dc power jacks in and it might be different,or the power supply cord.if thats not it your mother board could be shorted out,i have replaced all of that on my own computer the shops didnt want to fix it as its to old a computer notebook, and would cost to much to fix as opposed to buying a new one. however i love this notebook so i bought a new motherboard from ebay for about fifty dollars and a tube of cpu heat sink paste for about twelve dollars watche dvideos on youtube did it myself and boom its like new. after i replaced the first dc power jack i shorted out the motherboard by wiggling the cord to try and get it to come on and i guess the DC jack was loose enough to short it out.just a insight to what might have happend to your computer, and its worth fixing.
