Gateway Lx6810 Desktop Keeps Shutting Down Help!

It sounds like the computer shut down due to overheating. When the LX6810 was released, the BIOS was incorrectly programmed to run the fan at a slower speed. That's not enough to cool the CPU, especially during intensive tasks such as video editing. If this is a new problem for you, your vents may be blocked, preventing airflow. Or the fan has slowed down due to wear. Check to see if you have the latest BIOS. It was updated to run the fan at a higher speed for optimum cooling. After I updated my BIOS, my computer no longer shut down on its own.
