Why Is The Door Frame Getting 'hot' To The Touch?

I have a Fridgedaire side by side model # frs6r3jw0.  There has been a grinding noise coming from the ice-maker motor.  Now the frame of the refrigerator where the two doors meet is very hot to the touch.  The heat runs the entire length of the door frame and along the top front frame on the freezer side of the refrigerator.

That area and part is called the mullion heater. It keeps the cabinet around the door warm to prevent sweating around the door and seal. This is normal, it can get hotter if the condensor is clogged or if the condenser fan is not running correctly. Condenser fan is behind the unit by the compressor.
