Both Freezer And Frig Not Working

My Frig and Freezer not working; temperature inside the unit is hot.  The unit gave off a smell similar to a burnt wire smell, then now it the compressor doesnt engage and the unit will not cool.

Without a full professional diagnostic, it is hard to decide and tell what exactly is the root cause of the no power, no cool of the unit. However, if the compressor is not engaging at all, then you would need a technician to try and test this and repair where possible. You may not have an issue with the compressor directly but a relay that might easily be replaced.
