Hi sdwf2314 – Depending on which thermostat you are referring to, it could cause the oven to not bake or broil. First there is a cycling thermostat on older models that controls the cycling of the bake and broil elements. Second there are thermal cutoff, which kill power to both elements due to overheating around the oven. These are typically resettable, but it is recommended to replace them once they trip. Keep in mind as well that the unit could possibly be experiencing a communication issue with the EOC, wiring failure or have faulty elements. Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn on oven. If it proves to be ineffective, contact a professional to move forward accurately.
