Frigidaire Fdf50s1 Runs But Doesn't Collect Water From Air.
I have a 3 year old model that quit collecting water, but still has the fan running. how can I tell if the compressor is bad or needs freon?

Typically if there is no water being produced this can happen if the air is very dry and no water can condensate from the air. Check the coils to see if they are cold to the touch, actually they should be very cold, like almost freezing. If not then the refrigeration system of the dehumidifier has more than likely gone bad. To repair that, you will need a person certified to work on refrigerant systems with specialized equipment. In most cases with such small appliances like this, most manufacturers do not have replacement parts. You can purchase to try and repair it to the fullest extent; however I would suggest contacting your manufacturer.
