How Do You Re-install The Float In The Fad 704 Dwd Dehumidifier?

I just bought a new FAD704DWD dehumidifier online. Apparently in shipping, the float inside the bucket had come off. The unit will not operate without the float being properly installed (the "bucket full" light is on). I can probably replace the float if I could remove the top (handle and clear plastic cover) from the bucket, but I can't figure out how to do this. The manual is no help. Does anyone know how to remove the top from the bucket?

Hi jmsiegel59! I understand that you are looking for help to repair your dehumidifier. I would recommend contacting the manufacture since this is a new appliance. I have found that if you tinker with the appliance it could void your warranty. Hope this helps!
