You really shouldn't disable the daytime running lights, but it's your vehicle and you have a right to do it. You're lucky, since it is very easy to disable them on your 2003 Sport Trac. Some vehicles are almost impossible to disable the DRL's.

There is a fuse box in the engine compartment on the driver's side (near the firewall). If you remove the number 14 fuse (10 AMP), that should disable the DRL's without disabling anything else on the vehicle.
