Yellow Abs Light On But Mechanic Can't Get A Code Reading

Hi. If the light comes on, the computer is indicating that you have an ABS issue. This can be a cheap or expensive repair depending on the code. Being many codes can be set for this concern you will need to have the system checked for codes. You can have this done for free from most large chain auto parts stores. The rear speed sensor is very common to be the cause, but without knowing the code anything is a possibility. If the light is on the ABS system will be deactivated which many people have no issues without the ABS system. Does your speedometer work correctly and also is the 'brake' light on otherwise?
