Unable To Add People To Fb Group

I have created a FB group and invited people through their email address. I am not friends on FB with these people. Some of the email invites have been successful whiole others have not. The individuals are receiving messages that they are deined access when they click on the link. When I try to resend the invite, it says that I already invited this person.The group is a "secret" group so no one outside the group can see anything. Does that matter? I don't beleive it should Very frustating since it worked for some of the invites, but not all of them. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
