Deactivate Facebook Account

Hi, i wanted to deactivate my old Facebook account that is using my marriage photo with my ex husband. The problem is that i do not know the password or email address that is used for that account. We have our own family now and it's not pleasing when our relatives or friends saw that account under "friends you may know" please help me.. I have many times request Facebook to deactivate it, but they always close my case. I really need to deactivate the account. PLEASE.........

You do first have to recover your account. If you might be able to do so with your phone number, submit the form at: https://www.facebook.com/login/identify?ctx=recover. If not, see http://bit.ly/2ruCj5F. I'm afraid there are no other options.

Once you've recovered your account:

For deactivation, click "Deactivate your account" at: http://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=security. For deletion, go to: https://www.facebook.com/help/224562897555674?sr=1....

(In most cases you'd want to deactivate your account, not delete it. The two actions have the same effect, but after deactivation your account can be restored.)
