24 Hour Waiting Period

Dear Facebook.  I deactivate and reactivate my account frequently, and today it said I have to wait 24 hours if i want to reactivate my account again.  I never had to wait before.  Is this a new facebook change?

Facebook's official answer is that it is confusing to your friends when you come and go. The real answer is that the advertisers can't access your information when your account is deactivated. You have been put on time out to think about what you have done:)

Yes, unfortunately it is. It's a new policy they've introduced so evey time you deactivate, when you try to reactivate again, you'll have to wait 24 hours before you can successfully do so. You will get an email when your time is up.

Also, note that after the 24 hours, your account will not be automatically reactivated - you will have to log in again.

Another thing to note, is that to begin the 24 hour countdown, you will actually have to try and log in - i.e. if you deactivate and try and reactivate a day later, it wont work. It will just set off the countdown, 24 after which you will be able to log in.

You can immediately try to log in after deactivation of your profile so the 24-hour period will start to count from that time. You don't have to reactivate your profile the next day, but you can do it whenever you want after tomorrow without waiting 24 hours..

try to change your password, and it will immediatly log-in into your account.

thus your account will be reactivated BUT if you log out before the original period(24 hours) are complete, the next time you want to log in you have to wait till the 24 hours are done. therefore, do not log out before the 24 hours done or you can deactivate it again and do the same trick ( password change) again whenever you want..

my problem is much more complicated than this, I deactivated my account for i'm having exams and couldn't control myself from being distracted. and i did as i described above but forgot to deactivate before i log out, and the next time wanted to log in I rechanged my password in order to log in but it has reactivated my account without giving me an access to it, i.e. my friends can see my profile and post whatever what they want, but when I try to log in i get a note that I have to wait 24 hours!

Facebook is quite spammed. All the time Facebook finds ways to stop spammers, and spammers find ways to trick facebook. Due to that, ordinary users can get penalized. Especially new users. Those that have an account for several years won't get penalized that easily.

You can always verify your account by the phone number. That way, they will cut you a little slack.

Facebook implement a policy called "Acceptable use"

They can set limits to how often you can use a feature.

If you use it too often, they can stop you from using it for a while. Not only is this to stop you from spamming other users, it's there to provide protection to facebook (too many requests can bring the server to its knees, which means facebook goes down).

I suggest you wait for the feature to be unlocked (should only be a short while), and then tone it down on the usage.
