No Power When Switch Is On Suction Only

My vacuum, Eureka 431F stopped while I was using the hose. I turned it off, emptied the bin and now it doesn't turn on again for suction only. When I tried suction plush brush, the brush worked, but still no suction. I took the bin off again and tried re-attaching. What should I try next?
